BIOGRAPHY

JOHN STARLING BA (Hons) Dipl. Arch.

John was born in South London and has lived in Central London until three years ago when he moved to Liss in Hampshire, and after his family had dispersed to various other parts of the world. He has spent his time in London between undertaking small projects as a self-employed architectural consultant and teaching architecture.

Although he should have retired, he is still working on various architectural projects for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and a small number of private clients. Most of his work in the past forty years has been in the more deprived areas of London, in Lambeth and North Kensington.

He has always prepared line drawings at Christmas for cards, with print overruns for friends to frame them. Last year he turned his hand to watercolours, painting landscapes that reflected different seasons of the year. Most of them are of local views in Hampshire, but others are landscapes in France and Scotland. These paintings are now available as prints, and some of them as cards or original paintings.
